    Our Governing Board plays a key role in ensuring that the school provides the highest standards of education and care for all pupils. Governors work in partnership with the Headteacher and school leaders to set the strategic direction of the school, monitor performance, oversee financial management, and ensure that the school remains a safe, nurturing, and inspiring place to learn. 

    Governors are volunteers who bring a wide range of skills, experience, and perspectives to support the school. They act as a critical friend, providing both support and challenge to help drive continuous improvement. 

    The Governing Board's Responsibilities

    The Governing Board is responsible for: 

    Establishing the school's vision, ethos, and strategic direction. 
    Holding school leaders accountable for educational standards and pupil outcomes. 
    Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning. 
    Overseeing the school's budget and ensuring value for money. 
    Ensuring effective safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance procedures. 
    Supporting the school's ongoing development and improvement. 
    Representing the interests of pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community. 

    Meet Our Governors

    Jonathan Blundell Chair of Governors (Foundation Governor) 

    Jonathan leads the Governing Board, working closely with the Headteacher to ensure effective governance and strategic leadership across the school. 

    Alan Strogen Vice Chair of Governors 

    Alan supports the Chair of Governors in fulfilling the Board's responsibilities and helps support the wider aspects of school life.  

    Andrea Colville Foundation Governor 

    Andrea provides oversight and support for the safeguarding team.  

    Lynsey Kelly Authority Governor 

    Lynsey brings valuable local authority insight and helps to oversee curriculum development  

    Pam Lovett Foundation Governor 

    Pam works collaboratively with fellow governors to support provision for pupil premium children and promote positive outcomes for all pupils. 

    Stephen Cartledge Staff Governor 

    Stephen represents the staff body on the Governing Board, providing a valuable perspective on the school's operations and development. 

    Charlotte Wilbourne Parent Governor 

    Charlotte represents the views of parents and carers, helping to strengthen communication between families and the school. 

    Jill Wheatley Foundation Governor 

    Jill supports the strategic leadership of the school and contributes to ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of pupils and the wider school community. 

    Governance Structure 

    Our Governing Board is made up of governors from different backgrounds and categories, including Foundation Governors, a Parent Governor, a Staff Governor, and an Authority Governor. This diverse membership brings a broad range of expertise and perspectives, ensuring effective governance and balanced decision-making.
